Consultation with Dr. Hogan

If this is your first time at LVWellness & Aesthetics, we’ll begin by learning about your medical history and defining your desired results. Most patients interested in Restylane are interested in more than one of these fillers. We’ll learn about your ideal aesthetic appearance and discern which ones are best for you. Then, Dr. Hogan will create a personalized treatment plan. This plan will encapture the details of your care and how we plan on achieving your desired results. This plan will also dictate any necessary preparatory steps.

Before your Session

Since Restylane is a simple injection, the preparations are simple. All we ask is that you discontinue taking any blood-thinning medications such as aspirin, Advil, ibuprofen, other NSAIDs and certain herbal supplements and fish oil. We also ask that you avoid nicotine and alcohol as these may lead to unwanted bruising.

The Restylane Procedure

At the start of your session, we will have you sit comfortably in a private treatment room. We’ll cleanse the treatment areas, and offer you a topical numbing cream if you’re sensitive. Then, we’ll inject the chosen Restylane product in the desired area(s), using specialized and strategic injection patterns to ensure an even amount is placed under the skin. Once the filler is in place, we’ll massage the skin to ensure a balanced and even appearance. Then, after we have treated your final area, you will be free to resume your daily activities.

After Your Session

The treated area(s) may have lingering numbness for a couple of hours afterward. Once this subsides, you may notice the area is a little tender. This will eventually go away by the next day or two. Applying ice to the area will help and taking Tylenol for any lingering discomfort is recommended.
