NUTRITION

NUTRITION PLAYS A MAJOR ROLE IN OUR OVERALL HEALTH. IN THE FAST-PACED AMERICAN LIFESTYLE, WE TYPICALLY GRAB FOOD ON THE GO, USUALLY OPTING FOR SOMETHING BOXED, PACKAGED OR PROCESSED.

Food is one of the most potent medicines we have to help prevent and combat underlying disease states. Making poor food choices can be detrimental to your health. Let LVWellness & Aesthetics be your educational guide to help you live longer and live well!

Nutritional Therapy is a food-first approach to functional, holistic nutrition. It recognizes that every client is an individual with unique needs and there is no one-fits-all-approach to health. LVWellness & Aesthetics can help you accomplish your health goals through our individualized nutritional counseling.

Education is key to understanding what types of foods can help our patients feel better, get to their goal weight, and even help improve underlying hormonal imbalances. We will work with you to create a customized and convenient plan to enable you to develop better eating habits and achieve optimal health.

As a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP), Kelsey is certified through to the Nutritional Therapy Association to evaluate a client’s nutritional needs and make bio-individual recommendations and provide follow-up support for dietary changes, lifestyle choices, and nutritional supplementation, based on the following:

  • Initial Session
  • Analysis of Client’s Food Journal
  • Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire
  • Functional Evaluation & Lingual-Neuro Testing

FAQ

What is the difference between a Registered Dietitian, Nutritionist, and FNTP?

As an FNTP, Kelsey is trained to acknowledge and emphasize the individuality of every client. In addition to the initial session, food journal, and nutritional assessment questionnaire, she utilizes a Functional Evaluation and Lingual-Neuro Testing to further assess biochemical needs and support.

A Nutritionist can refer to any expert in the nutrition field, but it is not regulated by any standard. A Registered Dietitian is a healthcare professional that is licensed to diagnose and treat nutritional issues and has a more western-medicine (as opposed to holistic) approach to health.

What is the Functional Evaluation & Lingual-Neuro Testing?

The Functional Evaluation (FE) is a hands-on assessment used to identify organ systems that are in need of support. With permission of the client, Kelsey is trained to palpate specific points on the body. In response, the client will report a sensitivity score from 1-10, which helps identify areas in need of support.

Lingual-Neuro Testing uses the nervous systems ability to identify foods or supplements that may be beneficial to the body. To put it simply, the taste buds communicate with the brain and the body reacts accordingly. As a result, a sensitivity score during the FE may increase or decrease. Dietary, lifestyle, and supplementation recommendations can be made accordingly.

Who can Nutritional Therapy help?
Nutritional therapy addresses the unique imbalances of every individual. It can benefit those suffering from the following symptoms:
  • Fatigue or low energy
  • Gas and bloating
  • Constipation and/or diarrhea
  • Irregular periods
  • Acne and skin issues
  • Stubborn weight gain
